App v client not updating

On the client I have configured APPV as a publishing server; however when refreshing the client no shortcuts for Reader are created.Viewing the App-V client log, I’ve narrowed down the following lines that show what’s going on during the refresh: [09/23/2010 :885 SWAP WRN] Could not load OSD file \domain.local\Public\Apps\Adobe Reader9_x86\Adobe Reader9[09/23/2010 :900 AMGR INF] The app manager could not create an application from '\domain.local\Public\Apps\Adobe Reader9_x86\Adobe Reader9.osd' (rc 0C405564-00000002).[09/23/2010 :684 AMGR VRB] Create App(osd=\domain.local\Public\Apps\Adobe Reader9_x86\Adobe Reader9.osd, icon=\domain.local\Public\Apps\Adobe Reader9_x86\Adobe Reader9_x86 Icons\Adobe Reader9.ico) [09/23/2010 :685 AMGR VRB] Parsing type from url \domain.local\Public\Apps\Adobe Reader9_x86\Adobe Reader9[09/23/2010 :686 SWAP VRB] Initialize(osd=\domain.local\Public\Apps\Adobe Reader9_x86\Adobe Reader9.osd, orig Url=NULL) [09/23/2010 :687 OMGR VRB] Get Osd File(url=\domain.local\Public\Apps\Adobe Reader9_x86\Adobe Reader9.osd, orig Url=NULL name=NULL, ver=NULL) [09/23/2010 :688 OSDF VRB] SWOsd File(url=\domain.local\Public\Apps\Adobe Reader9_x86\Adobe Reader9.osd, orig Url=NULL, name=NULL, ver=NULL) [09/23/2010 :710 OSDF VRB] ~SWOsd File() [09/23/2010 :712 OSDF VRB] ~SWOsd File() complete [09/23/2010 :726 SWAP WRN] Could not load OSD file \domain.local\Public\Apps\Adobe Reader9_x86\Adobe Reader9[09/23/2010 :727 AMGR INF] The app manager could not create an application from '\domain.local\Public\Apps\Adobe Reader9_x86\Adobe Reader9.osd' (rc 0C405564-00000002).

The installer fails with the message: Failed to publish the package due to the following error: Windows Powershell updated your execution policy successfully, but the setting is overridden by a policy defined at a more specfic scope.Sebasitan, the German Microsoft Escalation Engineer we often get new news from about App-V, recently blogged about the dates for the lifecycles for App-V 5.1.Before people get upset, let’s make sure you understand what this means.This would require Microsoft to modify the custom action dlls to fix this, unless I bin them all and replace them with Powershell commands.This isn’t a road I’m going to go down, but if this is a show stopper for you, get in touch!

Seriously, if you are interested in writing Powershell scripts that interact with Windows Installer, and Heath Stewart’s Powershell Module doesn’t have you covered, using this library is a hell of a lot easier than using the COM interface!
